Should I go with 8" rims with 18" tires?

This is strictly for mx. Was planning to get the ITP Baja rims whether I go with 8" or 9" rims. So saving money is not the object. Planning to stick with 20" tires and 10 inch rims on the front.

I always liked 8 inch rims with 18 inch tires. Lot more sidewall and your rims tend to not bend as easily.

i run with 9'' rims and 18'' tires i dont like them i hit rim alot i would go with 8'' rims

Just make sure you buy a beadlock rim for those 8" tires. There's gonna be a ton of sidewall flex in the turns and possible blown-off beads if you don't use a beadlock.

I personally like 9" rims for MX. Best of both worlds IMO.

I agree with nacs. I like 9" wheels for mx. I like the way there is less sidewall flex in the turns and U get a better feel of whats going on beneath you. They are not good for very rough tracks though, mainly if there plenty breaking whoops.
