I'm building a 250r, do I need to have a coolant overflow tank?

You can do without it, it's basically just a reserve. Mine doesn't have one even though I'd prefer it did.

run your overflow hose down to your pipe, that way if you overheat you will know it because you'll see the steam.

Alot of people run a predator coolant rezi that they just bolt to the radiator shrouds, I got one sitting around that will be going on my R soon enough. They are alot cheeper new than even stock 250r overflow tanks.
