is it normal for an 06 header pipe to get red hott on this quad? my buddy just got one and was telling me the pipe gets red. doesn't seem right to me, either timing or carb running rich? Thanks for any help.

I have a 05 and a 06 yfz450 and mine both do that, it is abosolutley normal. Put aftermarket exhaust on it and it won't do it anymore.

They come way to lean from the factory.
Put a bigger main jet in it.

that's normal. has to do with the material of the stock header.

and yeah they are jetted lean from the factory, so don't do anything to the bike without rejetting

Like the others have said , they come way too lean from the Factory . They have a very thin header pipe and I believe the reason they are lean from the factory is because of pollution regulations in Calif . Tel your buddy to Bump up the jetting and add an aftermarket pipe .... the difference is like night and day !!!

its lean but ok

save up ur money 4 an exhaust and then rejet

its ok 4 now
