what kind of whip are you talking about? like the rear end going sideways, or one side of the bike going down?

i can do some decent "turndowns". and i always do em so the left side of the quad goes down. it's pretty hard to explain how to do it. but i think i just turn the bars to the left and push with my arms and legs, then pull back the opposite way and turn the bars the other way

now your thinkin ..... .........wow.......that was a crappy description idk, it just comes naturally to me. here's a crappy quality pic of me doin one

Yeah and turning the wheels before you go off the jump doesn't hurt either.

Posted by: allballs

if ur talkin bout gettin it angled down just push one foot down until u think u dnt got much time til u land cause i kno a guy who landed in the middle of an angled whip n broke a roll design a arm. if ur talkin bout sideways then u lean a little n kick ur feet out but keep ur wheels straight(looks kooler)

I get parts for my bike, not the 400 I applied, got accepted, and got a pair of t2's, grips, and alot of stickers for free. When you start racing do the same, they accept alot of people

Just start hitting jumps and kinda push your weight to one side and then bring it back. It is kinda hard to explain how to do it, just go out and try it.

Here's a pic of me sorta doing one (small jump, not much air time), you can see how I'm pushing down on the right side with my hand and pulling up with my left.

whip starts on the face, your actually turning on the take off, you use that directional momentum to get the quad to whip, some times i whip mike jones style, i do the first part sitting but then at take off you turn your body and bars in one direction ,still sitting and leaning ,the whole quad will whip almost like a bike, then turn the bars back and bring your body back.....everyone is gonan whip diff, depending on control and style, ive hardly seen any guys who can actually whip a quad good, jason luburgh prob has the best whip out from what ive seen

Posted by: quadracer04

SRH hit the nail right on the head. That's how I do it and it is alot tougher than most people think. Just leaning the quad over is pretty simple, but actually throwing the back end sideways takes some bigger balls.

IMO Jason Luburgh is the best whipper I've seen too. Go out, pick up a copy of Huevos 7, and watch his part in the movie...you will see some cool whips.

Throw the quad and tilt.

Posted by: ramp rida 55

i usually seat bump with my butt off the side of the seat and once i get popped up i straighten out my body and turn the bars while pulling the quad with the motion then i hit the rear brakes to even out.

Dang nice whip JrdSHIFT450r. You get that one back alright?

well, i'm kinda known to be a show off when i race and i can whip it pretty good. here's what i do...hit the jump several times till you feel comfortable and you can land on all 4 wheels or slightly on the rear first. if it's a tabletop, make sure you can get the nose down before you land. everyone knows if you land a tabletop on your back tires it's gunna hurt. ok whips...

put all your weight you possibly can on the back of the seat before the jump. hit it slighty slower and preload hard so you get the extra height and airtime you need for some better sustain. at the bottom of the jump, i move the majority of my weight to the left side of the biking keeping the wheels straight. then as soon as you feel the rear wheels leaving the lip, lean way off the left and pull the quad as hard as possible in a left and downward motion while you pull your body to the right side off the quad. when you do this have your bars turned to the full extent so it looks good. then you want your shin/knee over the seat but not touching it and flare your boot out perpendicular to the quad (90 degrees). make sure you're weight can easily be applied to the right side of the quad so even it back out for the landing (bend your right knee and keep your toe on the heelguard). i usually pull the whips back right after max air height. so the extent of the whip should be full at max air then pull it in quickly. you reallllly have to use your muscles and body english for this. it takes practice. start out little and get increasing bigger jumps, more air and more kick.

f you're an expert try shifting up a gear midair and turning just a hair before the jump and then kicking the backend out with your body english and rev it (that will get the back end to keep moving in that direction) if you tilt it sideways then it's easier to pull it back but it has to be done fast so you can land decent.

haha that was pretty in depth. i hoped it help some. here's me whipped from a 60 tabletop. i'll add a pic...
