a friend of a friend starting coming to mx practice and he has a suz. lt500 motor in a lt250 frame. i got to ride it the other day and let me tell ya, that thing rips. i can't imagine many standard quad motors having more power. the suspension was way too harsh for me, so i didn't want to jump it, but it would gitty-up real quick. i can see why guys like two stroke power.

That's cause they're aren't any You rode the King in terms of off the showroom floor power. And then to stuff it into a 250 frame (that's about 50lbs. lighter) would make that quad pretty quick.

yea that thing should defimitly rip but wouldnt it kill the frame unless he did some serious gaseting???? IM thinkin that that motor might be a little much for that frame.
killer

Yes, if he didn't gusset the frame than he's asking for problems but I'd almost have to assume that gussetting did take place.

thing must hual @$$

i'm pretty sure he did some work on the frame to strengthen it. i'm not sure of the specifics, but he did mention it. he says his favorite thing is to take it to little sahara and fool people who think it's just a 250.

Did he use the stock pipe? If so did it fit right in?

Scott, did you ever see that guy that ran the NTNS on a WR400 quad? It was a Quadzilla frame..Sorda. He handbuilt mostly every part on the quad.. A-arms, tie rods, swingarm, etc, with a Yamaha WR400 motor. He ran Pro class, and finished in the top 5 I believe. Interesting setup..

I witnessed one of those LT500 in a LT250 frame. It was nuts. Custom painted plastic, all chrome junk. There was another real trick 500 there that was orange and chrome. The 250 framed one beat the pants off that one, there was no contest.

250xex, the stock pipe will fit but it takes alot of cutting and welding to make it. I put a 500 in a friends 250 for him about a year ago. The thing is a blast the most fun is catching people who think it's just a 250.
