Does anyone have pics of a full shot of a 400EX, or any quad...

with a +4 axle and 22 x 11 - 9 tire/rim combo??

I have 20" now, but would like to beef it up a little for the trails... Just dont want it to look too goofy!

Thank you!

Here are a couple.

This was a Colorado trip we took. The Yellow 400EX and the DS650 both have Maxxis Razr 20'son 'em. The Red 400EX have Maxxis Razr II's on 9's. The Yellow is on 10" rims. Both of the 400EX'es have +4 Lonestar Xcalibur Axles. the DS is stock (but just as wide)

We actually found that the 22's were a little much up at 12,000 feet. The red 400 just couldn't turn 'em going up hill. The 20's were perfect for up there. the Yellow 400 would climb all day long. Down at 1,000 feet they did just fine though in both dirt and, unbelievably in sand!

The great thing about the lonestar Xcalibur axle is that it's adjustable from +1 to +4. It depends on the riding you do. Most of the time these quads ride on the dunes. This colorado trip was a "special occasion." The adjustment is done with collars on each end of the axle.

At any rate, we never even came close to being too wide.

I love my +4 for the dunes, it makes the bike so much more stable!

Wow, aviator4, That red ex looks awesome with those 24's and a +4 better than I thought it would look!!

I dont ride anywhere near mountains I would have trouble even walking up, so I think it would be ok not to spin em. Did you notice a big differance in take off? Like was it ALOT slower?

The quad I have has full exhaust, k&n and jetted, so that should make up for the loss in bottom end right?

Also, m_townsgreatest, I did not put the +4 it was on there by a guy who raced MX when I bought it just this past weekend.

Thanks for the pics!

Also have the lower tooth sproket too...

Those things might make up a little bit. the Red quad has a 13t sprocket on the front and it helps a little. It's also Piped and has a K&N, PLUS a HotCam Stage one.

Off the line, the 20's will beat it, but after this, it's actually faster. If you're not climbing mountains, I would say you'd be just fine. the 22's are more that capable.

Also, keep in mind that those are Razr II's, they have a taller knobby than the Razr I's.
