This is stuff I wanted to know for a while...so now that I know I will share. If anyone has the 04/05 numbers please post to compare.

Out of the manual:

primary reduction 2.739
final reduction 2.923

Thanks for posting those. I just checked the front sprocket and it's 13 stock. So the 13/38 gives us the 2.923 final. I only got to ride on pavement but it still feels a little tall to me...guess I can get used to it though.

I counted also and 13/38 for the 06 still feels a little tall alot better than the 04/05, Once you install a pipe I think it will be perfect.

they had to make internal changes too because 5th gear is about the same as peviously but they made sprocket changes.

so, basically this all new gearing for the 06 comes down to honda slapping on a 13 tooth? wow, that was tough.

No...check out the first two posts. The 06 is listed then the 04/05 from colby. The 13 tooth was just an additional change that affects the final reduction.

Anyone have the gearing/reduction #'s on an 04/05 with the 13T sprocket to compare to the 06 stock gearing/reduction?

the internal gearing was changed too like i previously said. even with a 13 tooth front on, the 06 has a very very very slightly taller 5th gear. nothing that would be noticable i am sure. the power delivery of the new engine will be noticable though...

This is a little application I wrote -- it will calculate gear ratios, piston speeds, displacement, etc --- and has a lot of data for popular quads preloaded....

If someone has primary reduction and individual gear ratio information for a Raptor 700, I'll add that to the program...

BTW, you can run more than one instance of the program for handy comparisons.....
