i have an 86 250r. the rear of the quad sits low, like on all 86's. but i found a Dura Blue adjustable strut that oyu put in the back and you can have up to 2" of adjustment. do you all think this would last the beetings of motocross? it's $60 so i'd like to see what oyu all have to say about it b4 i go and spend the cash. thanks alot.

ah man sorry i didnt read this earlier, the adjustable strut is for TT and Oval ONLY!!! ive heard some pretty nasty stories about guys thinking the strut will hold up for mx! i guess you can try but the 5 guys ive heard that used it all spent alot of money on repairs!

i know a guy that usees it for mx on both his quads(used to be a old pros) and they have held up fine.

Mine has held up so far. I got it with a bunch of other parts. And the guy that had it before me raced gncc on it.
But i hardly ever adjust it i would just as soon have the stock one.

I've got one for my 400 that I use for ice racing.. never tried it on dirt, but it's pretty beefy.. as long as it doesn't loosen up you should be good to go

how hard is it to take the strut off and lower/raise the SOB? I ride mainly dunes and trails...would this be a good investment?
peace

If you have a aftermarkrt swingarm you dont need to take it off. You have to be carefull depending on where it is adjusted some times they cause the rear shock to bottom on small jumps.

it held up to all my abuse (durablue) even though i tweaked my stem, cracked my frame 7 times, bent my footpegs, bent my Laeger tierod, bent up a rim hitting a rock in 3rd pinned in whoops, and so on

I havent heard of them bending or anything but the linkage doesn't work like it should in certain positions.
