Is anybody else having issues with these ? I have broken 2 sets in bolth my V force and my Rad valve. just this year! 50 bucks a shot ...i have never had trouble with the old stlye!

I got 3 seasons of ripping on my V-Force cage, no issues at all.
I was warned about it, so I carry my stocker's with fresh petals in the trailer as a back-up just incase.

have you tried running a richer ratio? My reeds said not to run over a 32:1. Says that more oil helps cushion the reeds for longer life.

also reed spacers help alot. Keeps the reeds away from the piston.

i dont have the v-forces, but i do have a 1/4" reed spacer and boyesen reeds on mine and had those break into 3 pieces! i guess you should check the reeds every now and then to prevent breakage. these were basically new though.

I have delta reed valves and would go through reeds about every two months. Finally I said screw it and put the stockers back in. I never ran spacers so there could be some truth to that. I would crack them and then they would go into the motor and I would have to fish them out. Someone told me that it was the gas setting on there that makes the carbonfiber brittle, and to try shutting my gas off but I never tried it. I would say to try spacers and if that doesn't work put the stockers back in.

I would go with at least a 3/8 spacer.I have had my reeds in my quad for about a year of very hard riding, drag racing, flat track racing.boysen pro 50's carbons.

yeah the spacers help, a lot of times the reeds open and smack the intake track on the cylender sumwhere... only a matter of time b4 they shatter when thas happening..
