The chen shin ice tires. You can put well over a thousand studs into those things!

Definelty get tires,or even get turf tamers and stud them
Lowering kit
And sway bar
Posted by: hotrodbelair
think just tires with studs lowering kit and anti sway bar would be good enough what about shocks
Posted by: ct310
Dont need the shocks, GET the Chenshins!, swaybar, icescrews from Dennis Kirk (1/2" with the shoulder on them) 1 in each knob, you can have too many, flat tread front tire, REJET RICHER, lower quad height. dont let off the gas until you see Elvis in the bushes

Ill see if I can get some pics up this weekend, but me and my buddy took some old stock 400ex rear tires, and put 48 snowmobile steel picks and shovels in each tire, then ran a tube on the inside. HELLO! Talk about traction! These are strictly for ice! We were taking 800 triple sleds off of the line with his nearly stock 450R, they obviously caught us within the next 30 feet and destroyed us but it was still pretty cool!

to do it the right way if you want to ride them hard and not worry about pulling studs out, go get the cheng shins and 1 1/4" studs and nut them on the inside of the tire. i have heard this is the only way to go if you race often. otherwise no matter what tire you have you will still throw a stud out now and then.

You can throw screws, but we didn't throw any studs!?

those you pictured are snowmobile studs, i'm talkin about the ice racing screws with a 1 1/4" shank on them. hope that clarifies, sorry for the misunderstanding.

How do you put a nut on a screw?
Posted by: honda92
i'm just telling you what the last years minnesota ice racing campion told me, he said at the hardware store they make lock nuts that will thread onto the ice screw. he must know what he is talking about if he won the ice racing circuit.

Maybe a nylock nut? It would be a little pricy to buy 100's of those BESIDES the screws. For the casual rider anyway. For anything other than racing, it's cheaper to just use sheet metal screws and replace the ones that fall out. Unless you stay strictly on ice with them, they wear out and need replacing anyway.
