Hey Guys I just bought a used 03 Suzuki Z400 that is a creme puff and has been nothing but babied! I was wondering what is the first thing I can do to it and it wake it up a good bit......for around 500$. I've heard that these bikes respond better to exhausts than most other quads. Let me know what yall think.

i got a RE and is great better than hmf and any thing else ive seen and u put a jet in it u will have a really good bike and there not that much

If you're looking for more power I'd say get an aftermarket exhaust. Personally I think if you have better suspension, you can ride faster and more comfy. Some 450R shocks on there would be a cheap way to add some shocks with rezzies.

Unless all your doing is dragging, i think the suspension is you best bet also. You can have all the horsepower but if you cant get it to the ground its worthless.

Dropping one tooth up front will really help. Its a nice, cheap and helps alot. My buddy did it on his z-400 and really liked it.

Hey Guys, I think I'm going to get an alba pipe kit that comes with jet kit, K&N, Maxflow adapter, header pipe and their exhaust....its only 450$ Do yall know if its any good or is their another one around that price thats better???

There are better pipes out their. If Im not mistaken the alba pipe didnt do too well in a shootout they had.

drop one tooth in the front $15 hot cams off ebay for $250 and modify the end cap on stock exaust for free and stage three alba jet kit for $20 toss the air lid and a 18pack of miller lite for $11.99 if your gonna get a exaust get a ct cool sound and awesome performance

Where are you wanting more power?

Some like the Alba but is kinda loud. I personally think exhaust is over rated. The Rossier is a good exhaust for the $. I don't know how much you plan on doing but a simple base gasket is cheap & will add some low end, or will compensate if you add both cams. 13 tooth sprocket can help alot for the $, depending on your tires. I would not do it if you are running 18" rears. A better Carb such as the FCR was my best investment. You should be able to find a good used one for about $250. The carb, exhaust, filter will all go together nice, if you want to stay out of the motor. If it still has stock front shocks, I would replace them asap. Have fun
