For all you guys that actually have the 520 kit tell me how the power is. Where do you see most of your gains compared to a hopped up 450. Does it pull off the bottom, mid or top? What kind of problems have you had with the 520 kit as well. Thanks..

the motor does not really start pulling a built 450 till bout the top of 4 and bottom of 5th... so u can save alot of money by building a 450 with piston, cam, crf ing. ect. and will just as fast until u get highin the gears which u really wont use on a motocross track... but for dunes it is great

We dyno'ed mine last weekend (at Loretta's) and it was within 3lbs of max torque at only 4000 RPM's and didn't drop off until 8500 RPM's. They are sending me a soft copy of the graph to post. I will put it up here when it arrives.

In my opinion, the power (54 H.P.) is much more usable than the stock curve. The quad is a pure joy to ride.

I'm more than satisified with mine. I highly recommend their kit. It's a lot of money, but a great kit.

Plus, the guys at nMotion have really stepped up and dialed this thing in for me.

Good question, but I don't have a clue. I don't have a comp guage. I'm a rider not a mechanic. :-)

nMotion did the complete assembly on the engine, so I didn't even put it together.

Wish I could help.

Brit, any idea what cam you are running?

Posted by: Brit Mansell

Nope, but I will find out some details tomorrow. Hopefully they will have the dyno chart ready also.

i don't know if i would go for all of that either. i am sure they run great but it costs you. i have seen a 14:1 480 with the pulsecharger exhaust and a ported head on stock valves go 55 horsepower. that was with the fcr 40 carb too, which will probably produce 1-2 horsepower less than the larger stock carb. i believe that was with the hrc cam and dyna ignition and i am not sure what filter.

I would probably suggest ignoring the H.P. numbers, too. Each dyno is different and the numbers depend on too many variable factors. The only way to really tell is to put them on the same load dyno under perfect atmospheric conditions, which isn't going to happen.

Good point!

Thanks guys for the input. I am looking for a bottom end midrange beast that still pulls to the topend. Is that what your 520 does? I do appreciate all your responses.

As I was saying earlier, power starts around 4k RPMs and stays all the way past 8500 RPMs. So, yes, to answer your question. :-)

I can't remember at what RPM max power was, but I'll post it when the graph comes in.

nmotion usually puts a 12:1 in but they do have 13:1 which I run and they have like a 11:1 or some where around there too.

they recomend the mysto web cam which I run. yes these have very awesome mid to top end power but I race the proclass here and pull the holeshot almost every heat. as for carbs I run the edelbrock which I think has very good acceleration.
