blaster can't stop leaking

my friend has a 98 blaster, and it seems to start up about every 3 kicks or so, but when you turn the gas on, gas flows out of overflow tube at a constant rate. and when you put it on reserve it does the same. but when its off nothing happens. so both of us were scared to ride it so it doesnt blow up on us, and i was just wondering what could be wrong with it since it was doing it for a while.

if i can have any feedback about it that would be greatly appreciated.

the float in the carb is stuck

see the two black things on the carb? those hang from that thin peice of metal. look at thhem and you will probably see one that hangs higher than the other or vice versa. make sure that thin piece of metal is flat all the way across. (you can bend them back a forth if you need to, just do it slowly) then, take out all the jets and spray carb cleaner in them and the rest of the carb

Yeah sounds like the floats are stuck, bent or need to be adjusted.
