my sons 90 isn't getting any spark..it was running good and all of a sudden it just quit on him...it roll's over good got good compression, just isn't getting any spark...all it has on it is a aftermarket kill switch, everything else is gone...if the kill switch was to go bad wouldn't it still get spark????need a little help..

You might check the coil we just had that problem at our last race.

Did you powerwash it after the race? Also try unhooking the kill switch and see if it fires then.

Electrical problems on the TRX 90 are unusual. I would also get rid of the tether and try that. Also look at all the connections and grounds.

i took the tether off today and checked for loose wires but still no spark...is there anyway of checking the coil to find out if its bad or not...

Change the plug? If it doesn't work then it might have somthing to do with the fly wheel i think cause it generates the spark i think... not to sure tho.
also to see if it does get any spark..un screw the plug and put it in the rubber wire thingy make sure ur holding only the rubber wire and make sure the end of the plug is touching the motor......then have somone try to start it up while u r doing that and look for spark.. that may help u unless u alread know that!

Yes there are test for all electrical components except for the CDI box. I would suggest buying the service manual and perform the tests.

went and bought a electric meter yesterday....got a reading coming from the CDI to the coil but nothing in the plug cap...got to be the coil....

Maybe bad plug cap they just srew on?OR the 2 wires that plug into coil.We had one that threw the chain an busted the nurtral saftey switch behind the cover had to trace wire to front an ground to frame starts in gear now.Just guessing throwing out more options
Is the coil grounded good?

i checked it again...this electrical crap is for the birds...i checked the resistance from the coil to the plug cap and it was fine...coil to the plug wire was fine also..but when i put it on the termanals on the coil no reading...plus i can't get a reading from the CDI for nothing...

put a new coil on it today and nothing....gettin ready to order a CDI
Posted by: ROBBSRACING
I would be surprised if your problem is the CDI box. Very unusual for one to go bad on a TRX 90. I believe i have a few stock ones around though if you want to pay the shipping i will send you one to try. I also have performance CDI boxes for the TRX if you want to just buy a new one.

i never thought to call you...i already ordered one yesterday...i'm hoping this is all i need...Thank's for the offer anyway.....
