my little brothers recon es wont shift, im a pretty competent mechanic, but i know nothing about the electric shift, when you turn the key on the fist gear light just keeps blinking, we cant get it to shift gears and we cant move it because its in gear, btw its in my back yard and i have to mow to day so i need some quick responses, thanks

yes,i just had that problem a little while ago on my recon,it was doing the same thing, came to find out it was the whole shifting assembley(the part on the handlebars)had to be replaced,my dads also,I guess its a pretty comon problem with the recons

Before you replace it i would try taking the handlebar shifter apart and cleaning it. I had a rancher and when I got dirt or sand in the buttons they would sometimes stick. It sounds like one of your buttons is stuck. There is also an adjustment on the shift motor located at the front of the motor. Hope this helps some.

no,if it was stuck it wouldnt be blinking,im not sure what the codes are,but depending on how many blinks, tells you a code for whats wrong, the gear lights only blink if something is wrong

not only on recons my friends foreman es
had the same problem. his quit shifting after the big snow we had last year. i think it was from dampness getting inside all that electrical crap! \

You should have gotten a foot shift lever with your recon
just in case your electric shift was to **** up

if its under warranty, then the dealer will replace it at no charge

its the angle sensor thats what was wrong on my recon es the 1st gear light kept blinking i had to take it to the dealership and they repaired it luckily it was under warranty there should be a hand shifter that came with it in the tool kit kinda looks like a foot shifter about 7 inches long.

i dont remember where i read this at but there is a censor plugged in to the side of the transmission and if it gets wet they wont shift. you have to unplug it and blow it dry.
