Will a 400ex brake stay work on a 250r bearing carrier and swing arm?

Yes and NO.

yes, you can get it to fit on the the carrier and snap-ring with retain it.

NO because the offset of the caliper is not correct for a 250R caliper.

I know this because I bought a 400EX brake stay when I started building my project. I now have a 250R brake stay.

Ok, I went ahead and bought a 400ex caliper and 400ex brake stay.

I'm thinking you are going to need the brake hub and rotor from a 400ex, too if you want to make that setup work.
