i dont have enough money to buy a yfz so could i buy a yz450 or yfz450 engine and have it fit in my 400ex frame?

anything can fit as long as long as you fabricate the mounts and stuff for it, there may be some cutting involved too,

but if your metal fab skills are up too date, its possible

i mean, look at all the hybrids out there

i dont see why not, a lot of work though and the yfz motor is not cheap!

buy a old yz 450 dirt bike take what you need and throw the rest on ebay. you save more money then if you were just going to buy the motor. also you can usally get back some money from the part out.

put it this way, spend tons of money building a hybrid, with a motor that was never suppossed to be in a frame that is made for recreation, and have a sub-par, hybrid, with a motor that coulde already been put through hell

or spend the same amount and buy a brand new yfz450

Just save your money for the whole thing.. Or buy a 450r. In the long run its the better choice IMO..
