Just got back from Silver lake and had the random sound test on my 400ex...I've been to silver like 6 times this year with out a problem..then this last time they wanted to do a random sound test. like ever time I entered the dunes...which I failed...and it isnt even load...They said it was 98 db and state law is 94????So they said I was ok to ride for the day and put a sticker on my handle bars allowing to to pass future test for that day only...But wasnt allowed back...So what to do?.....replace the whole exhuast.....or what...And any idea why they where so strict that day and never be for???

I've been to the dunes on my 400ex when it tested 92Db at idle and they always let me in.

Sounds to me like it's a bit more than random. If you're being an idiot in the parking lot, many times they will do that. Then again it really depends on who is working the booth. At one point they weren't letting in any trucks that didn't have mufflers or Cats.

Nahh nat being stupid in the parking lot...just crusing slow as I could in first gear!!!

I've been screwed over before, I was tested at 107 and given a ticket on the spot...so now if I see cops I either find another way, go slow, or haul balls and hope they don't catch me.

I have yet to be tested at Silver!
