Would it work fine just like that. Or do I need an after market needle/pilot? Thanks for the reply.

i run 185 no lid on mine with my sparks..it runs PERFECT..i have the stock other jets still

Since I picked up my 450r with hrc installed I called sparks and asked about jetting while ordering my exhaust. They told me with the hrc jetting i'd be fine. I was till I added a sparks filter and started running with no lid, after that I needed to readjust the fuel air screw.
Now my 450r runs awesome, only you have to keep that filter clean when running with cover off. The beast sucks so much dirt into the box I clean it after every ride.

Would a 185 main and the clip on the 4th spot work fine?

i have
full hmf
uni with outerwears
cut air box lid (hrc style)
185 main 2.5 turns out i think????? and a HRC NEEDLE MIDDLE CLIP
you should get the hrc needle pn:16201-nlz-651. but the sealership told that i had to get the "carb setting kit" pn 16020-nlz-651 (185 main and hrc needle) my 450r ran like chit till i put the hrc needle in.

that sounds like a good starting point to me. i would probably turn the mixture screw out a 1/2 turn or so too.

***Top Set removed***
9) Remove the two screws holding the arm set to the throttle valve.
10) Remove the Needle Jet. (A magnet or needle nose pliers may help) and install the HRC Needle with the retainer on the 3rd clip.
***Needle jet removed***
11) Remove the 17mm bolt on the bottom of the carburetor.
***Removing the 17mm bolt to expose Main Jet***
12) Remove the main Jet with a 6mm socket and install the HRC Jet and the 17mm bolt.
***HRC Main Jet (185) Installed***
13) Turn the Air/Fuel mixture screw (Pilot Screw) all the way in and turn it back out 2.5 turns.

Ok man thanks alot! Turn it out 1/2 a turn from stock? or all the way in and then half a turn?
Posted by: Billyu40
turn it all the way in and turn it out 2x and work your way out from there to see how it runs. when you go passed 2.5x-3-x you need to then use the 50 pilot. Thats bs about your Honda dealer making you buy 5. try any moto store they will help. I cant think of any up that way but Surdykes. Good luck pm me if ya need more help.
Posted by: Punk'd
Alright thanks alot bro. Surdyke is kind of far from here. Its on the way to St. Joe State Park for me though. I hope the stock pilot will be ok though, but if not im going to call Honda and give them a peice of my mind. They only do that so you order 5. Im sure they have like 1000's in stock. They prob only do that because they know they can get away with it being the only Honda shop close by.

I just put a Sparks system on and used a dynojet kit with everything i needed in it. the kit was 45 bucks and I used a 180 main, new dynojet needle, main jet air plug, clip on 3rd from bottom, and air/fuel screw 2.5 turns out. I also run open box with UNI. Hope that helps. That dynojet kit gives you everything you need though with instructions.
