2001 motor in 87 frame (warrior)

My friend's little brother decided not to check the oil before he went riding one day and rode their warrior all day with pretty much an empty tank and well i think you all know what happened to the motor. They got an 01' motor off of ebay and im going to help put it in but i was wondering if we are going to run into any problems? As far as i know the warrior motor and frame hasnt changed from 87 to 03'. Can anyone help me out?
