300ex/400ex... big diffrence?

Hi.. Ive been into dirt bikes pretty much since I was little and now Im looking to get a quad. Ive been looking at either a 300ex or 400ex. I know that a 400ex is faster but is the diffrence that crazy. I ride a mix of trail and sand pits but Im more of a trail guy so I was thinking that the nimbleness of the 300 would come in handy. Also around my area the price difference between a 300 and 400 is pretty high and the cash saved on the 300 could go for safty mods like skids/bumpers. So basicly what Id like to know is if I got a 300ex would I really be missing out on power and speed compared to the 400ex..

Go for the 400ex if you can. It is a great trail quad and is nimble enough for the woods. It takes alot of cash to make a 300ex equal to the 400.

Ok cool thanks... Ill just save up for the 400 then

..Right now I have a slightly modded 86 cr80r adult, had to sell off my faster bikes in order to buy camera gear..

Good choice. I don't think you'll regret it. I made that mistake back when I bought mine and I've wished I had bought the 400 ever since. There are so many more aftermarket goodies for the 400ex.

I think you should go with a 300ex and add upgrades later on because you cannot beat the reliability of the 300ex.the motors last forever and youll never have to worry about anything.you can make them go a lot faster but all in all there really fun.your choice though.
