I am going to start racing my 400ex.. No real mods, I have a WB E-Series. My question is shocks. The stock shocks are set a 3. I was wondering if i should make them stiff or soft. I didnt know if i should move them up to the stiffest setting or what. Any help would be greatly apperciated.

I forgot to say I'll be jumping like 65ft tables and doubles and things like that.

it depends on your weight, I cleared a 35-45ft table top with the stock shocks on one click from stock and didnt bottom out. I weigh about 140 tho

It depends on weight and type of racing. For Cross Crountry racing you want to set them as soft as they will go. MX needs to be a little stiffer. Your rear shock needs to be set-up where it will not kick you off the quad. This would be your rebound adjust. Your compression keeps you from bottoming out and keeps the ride plush. Also rebound is how fast the shock recovers from compression. Don't have your compression so soft that you bottom out and mess your back up.

personally i would try to find a pair of WORKS or elka or Custom Axis adjustable shocks...the stockers will tend to bottom out and be kinda bounc....see what u can find..IMO
