I just happened to get my works trips with rez on Friday and got to test them out at camp this weekend. I have some pics and some other thoughts I'll post tomorrow, but to make a long story short:
These shocks which I'm sure work similiar to other competing brands, soak up all the harshness, make it easy to go through tight trails, land easy, and well just plain out outperform stock shocks. It's not even close.
So if u r thinkin about gettin shocks, do it.

You never really realize just _how bad_ the stock front shocks are until you try aftermarket do you?

Bro here';s a pic of were I've got mine mounted..
Posted by: knighttime
but i mounted my reservoirs on a different bar than Rico. I put them on the same bar that has the front of the steering stabilizer is attached to if u look at Rico's pic.
Posted by:
Mike how'd you keep the rezzies from getting in the way of the stabilizer,,your denton is the same as my muscle isn't it
.....that sounded funny didn't it..
Posted by: knighttime
I mounted the reservoir right above the stabilizer. The bottom of the res. actually just touches the stabilizer clamp.

how much were those knighttime?
dave
Posted by: knighttime
$500
A good deal when u consider the equivalent shock from Elka is about $725+ WITHOUT reservoirs.

Is that what you run Rico? The same works? I have asked this question before, but will ask it again.... If I get those triple rate with rezzies and run them on factory a-arms, can I, at a later time get extended a-arms and be ok? Thanks YLW

Them there works shocks in that pic are exactly what I have. And yes you can put works shocks on stock A-arms but if you go wider with your A-arms you will need to get them revalved,,unless you only go +1 and then they'll work OK,,,,or at least they've worked OK for me when I did that..
Posted by: YLW400
I worked a little overtime last week and I am still thinking about picking them up.....I could either do that or get a graphics kit, nerf bars and some other stuff.....What do u all suggest??
Posted by:
Shocks,,hands down....my suspension is the best thing I've put on my quad out of all the crap that's on there..definitly. Get the shocks, get the shocks, get the shocks, etc etc etc..get my drift.

i wish i would have got shocks... i think i got a broken wrist at the current moment becuase of it... i was jumpin today and i was the 1st person to try this 30ft double at our new track... my back end cased it by about 2 inches and it slammed my front end down... my hand went off the bars becuase of the impact and caught my hand guard hyperextending my wrist... if i would have had shcoks i would be in this problem right now... o well i can't wait to go back tomorrow
... shocks are def the best investment u can make!!

GET THE SHOCKS!
Like Rico said shocks was the best inprovement I could have possibly done to my quad. And I have works triple rates w/rezzies and they are WAY better than stock. For all you bashers works shocks do not "suck".
Posted by: Matrix250R
how big do you have to go to bottom after market shocks?
Posted by: 400exRacerX
It all depends on the valving and spring rating.
You can set aftermarket shocks up so stiff so that they will never bottom,,,,, but that would be a horrible ride!

So, Tommy, are you saying you're a "limp wrist"? Sorry dude, had to
Posted by: 400exBro
Defintly get the shocks, i wish i would of got the shocks before my pipe because i am able to fly around the track a lot faster, because the breaking/acclerating bumps are elimnated,.
I mount my rezzies where works booklet thingy told me too in the middle by the honda tag thingy, i get some pics soon, if i get the go*danm digital camera back.

I'd be leary of buying anything from anyone who tells you to keep quiet about where you got them. Are they stolen? Why wouldn't a respected dealer want to gain new business?
