can somebody tell me what you need to torque the head on a 250x? thanks

Try calling your dealer. I do not have the info for the 250x ( I should as I have one) but for the 400EX engine Torque specifications
from the '99-'01 TRX400EX service manual.
Cylinder Head/Valve:

cylinder head cover bolt -- 8 lbf-ft
rocker arm shaft -- 20 lbf-ft
intake sub-rocker arm shaft -- 20 lbf-ft
exhaust sub-rocker arm shaft -- 20 lbf-ft
cam sprocket bolt -- 14 lbf-ft
cam tensioner plug -- 2.9 lbf-ft
cylinder head nut -- 33 lbf-ft

Again try calling your local dealer.
Both 250x/300ex and the 400ex are aircooled engines and if you can not find any other info this maybe your closest bet. Also you may want to pick up a Clymer manual.

thanx 250x. I have to get gaskets and a pistion and rings for another one anyways.
