am I ok using Bel Ray gear saver 75 or 80wt in the trans?

and i've heard that i can use 10W40 motor oil in the trans as well?

I starting running that in the tranny. The oil seems to be a little better than the honda oil.... it def lasts longer. noticed with the honda oil that it gets gray after couple of rides. gear saver from bel ray is a good tranny oil. running regular motor oil is nonsense.

I use Maxima MTL 80W trans lube in mine. It works great and is made specifically for transmissions and wet clutches.

i hope that bell ray isnt hypoid gear lube, of diff lude for auto's. If it is its way to thick. The proper oil should be as thin as 10w-40 motor oil or automatic transsmison fuild. Just run the honda trany oil. Its in a red bottle and is for 2 strokes, but since the 450r has seperate oil for the trans, you can run amost any trany oil that you could in a 2stroke

no i don't have the hy-poid oil, i know that hy-poid is for differentials.
