Did you polish the parts first or just spray them?

Posted by: ZRider400

not bad, how well does it hold up though?

has to be sprayed onto bare metal right?

Posted by: T2RACING

Looks Good

Posted by: woodsZrider

i like the color

Looks cool (for now). I'm wondering how long it will last. The part on top will obviously be the first to "rub off" from kicking it but how long till the side wears from leg rubbing against it?
Powdercoat will hold up longer.

well duhh,
it was what? 5 bucks a can? and powdercoating is what? $50 an a-arm?(wild guess there) i think it looks sweet and for 5 bucks, why not try?

at the org their is a write up on how to do anodizing. Which we all know that anodized is a form a surface hardening. So not only does it look good ,but i makes the surface harder. Plus its not even that hard to do.

A small piece like that which is bare metal and will require hardly any prep should'nt cost more than $15-20 to PC.

What she used is not anodizing.
it is paint the does the look of anodizing!

a guy around here that does PC started to do anodizing and he quit with in the first batch. He said it is way to toxic for his likeing!!

you have to where a hasmad type sute and have a bay with air filters and all kinds to stuff to keep the "tree hugging law cops" away!

but the wal mart stuff is just paint.

I know with real anodizing you have to polish or have it cromed first to make it shine.

Posted by: nat3060

i polished mine to make sure it shined underneath.. i put a few coats of auto clear coat on top, it really brought out the color after that
