I have just purchased a 400ex and i will get it thursday. SO i wanna babey this thing. So What oil should i use? I heard of mobil1 motorcycle oil. 10w-30? 10w-40? what would be the best oil. IM not very worried about the price.

I heard to get a P-brake blockoff right away to save the brakes is this true?

Should i use a different high performance spark plug?

How much should i go easy on it to break it in.

ive done a search and these are things i havent found much info one so please help me out.

I would change the oil after the first ten hours. Use regular GN4 for the break in. Replace it with the same after that, then you could switch to Mobil! after that.
Take off the parking break on the way home, or as soon as you get there.
Use the stock plug, or bump up to a 9 if you ride wide open a lot.
Ride it for 15-20 minutes, avoiding full throttle, but varying rpms, let it cool for an hour. Do that about 4-5 times. Avoid extended full throttle for the first tank of gas. Then beat the snot out of it.
Run a K&N or a Uni.

Sometimes. I have an '01 and still have the PB installed and the rear pads are still fine. But I will still get a block off.

Not neccessary

Don't go WOT until it is fully broke in.
Should i rejet for a k&n,,, should i get a K&N or other?
Rejet when you get a filter. K&N for regular conditions...UNI for dusty conditions.
