Just got a letter about the centers being defective if shipped after January. Just FYI.

9 inch rear wheels with stock offset and includes just about every bolt pattern.

I dont know if this is what thats about, but i had to drill my out alittle to fit! I also when to get my frnt of and i counldnt get it off! Sorry just airing out about 800 dollar rims. So is this a recall?

Posted by: cliq20

i think they're just replacing centers bought after january because they are breaking.

Yeah, the recall is for the rear 9x9 center piece. The metal would just give away.

Hiper will back you and fix the problem for free, no worries, just give them a call

I've seen this problem 1st hand on my buddies hipers... Not so good.. I've seen it happen about to 4 or 5 diff sets of hiper Rims but only on the 9x9's.. Seen alot of them break out to the Redbud quad nationals... Lets hope no one gets hurt to bad from a center hub busting apart from the rest of the rim. But hiper has treated my buddie very good about this whole problem and sent him new centers the very next day...

johnny hale had a bad concussion...
and cody miller had badly bruised ribs...
dont chance it send hiper ur wheels to get fixed

Posted by: cliq20

they just send you new centers, you have to fix yourself.

when i call they ask if i wanted to do it or send them back. I said i will put them together. in two day i had new centers.

Posted by: cliq20

didn't even ask me, just sent me centers. it's a pain to change them out. i wonder how much stress they need to be under to really fail...

Posted by: coorsinmyc-bak

we are a distributor of hipers, the email they sent us said, all wheels made from ? - 5-11-05 needed raplaced wheels bought after 5-11 were ok.

Posted by: cliq20

replaced mine today, the center is thicker where the bolts come through. i think it's for centers manufactured after january.

Posted by: seamonster

I had my left rear wheel come off on the third lap at Steele Creek....it just came off....when I looked at the wheel it had worn through on the center....I still had lugnuts left on the hub....freaky situation...unfortunately I have already paid to replace the center.

Posted by: cliq20

just depends on when you bought them but if you call, i'd bet they'd make it right, chris.

Does anyone know a date, is it only after Janruary? I bought mine used last summer, does the recall affect my 9x9?

Your best bet is to call them.
