The sparks x-4 is awesome.(sorry no sound clips though) The HMF is great also. I would avoid the FMF though because it just doesn't make the power the others do. Enjoy your 300ex

if your not worried about sound get sparks or hmf...whit bros has great exhausts too

but do sparks ship exhaust,s to norway?
Posted by: bwamos
X-4 is my favorite.
On the shipping.. just contact sparks. If they don't, check with your regional distributor (whomever you use) and see if they can get you a Sparks X-4.

I'd go with HMF, I have one it's loud and a noticable power difference.

yeah,i like the slip-on
its great soud on it
is the sparks x-4 louder that stock??
is this the sparks x-4? http://www.gopartsdirect.com/atv/it...&Placeholder=30
its not cheap!

That's not it. Here's the one you are looking for:
http://www.sparksracing.com/frame_1.htm
And yes it's much louder than stock. The spark arrestor quiets it some but it's still pretty loud. It isn't cheap though.

unless you plan on doin some engine work, go with the HMF. Get it from C&D, cheap and no complaints with it. If u get a full exhaust with a stock engine I doubt it'll do much more, will it? I was looking into a sparks myself when I first bought my 300 and I was told w/o boring, it was pointless....
I'm jetted, slip on and uni w/ no lid...I don't have a problem in the world with keeping up with people on trails.

I agree the HMF is a great slip on especially for the price. I was told that the stock headr is very restricitve on the 300ex so I went with the full pipe. I know it helps for top end power. Both exhausts improve low end power though. I am rejetted with a modded lid and UNI and it has sooo much more power than stock. I have no problems keeping up in the woods with larger bore quads. I also had a cobra full pipe
when I first got it and it wasn't anything like the sparks. If you are on a limited budget go with the HMF if money is no object then go with sparks x-4.
Hope this helps
Also my engine is totally stock.

What do you think the comparison is liek between a sparks X-4 and a HMF w/ WB head pipe? close to the same? I mean I think total, W/B head pipe and HMF if you wanted the combo, it'd only be around 355. or so....

I bet the performance is very close. It would be a bit cheaper also. I think I paid close to $450 with shipping for my sparks x4 w/spark arrestor
I've heard that the HMF/Wb header combo is also quieter than the sparks but I haven't heard it myself.

HMF w/b combo is really good

HMF doesn't make a full system for the 300ex
Posted by: 300exDust
yup, gotta get a combo
Posted by: quad janern
hahha i was thinking on a other exhaust
Posted by: 300exDust
doesn't a full exhaust mean head pipe and muff?
lost

yes

IMHO a good combo is WhiteBros Header w/ HMF Slip-On for a standard bolt-on mod quad.
The Sparks is really best for Big Bores and Strokers that have to pump out more exhaust.

but how are the sound in a slip-on?
wich of exhaust,s have the best sound, some exhaust,s that is not LOUD AT ALL?
Posted by: 300exDust
dude, everyone has their own opinion on this just like anything else. For the 300, HMF has the best sound/performance that I've seen and heard. I mean if you got the cash go with full curtis sparks..... But slip on? Yoshi sux for sound, HMF sounds a **** ton better.

If you're looking for a very quiet pipe that sounds ok.
Then you really only have the HMF QS1 @ 96 dBs.
HMF QRS is a little louder but much higher performance @ 100 dBs.
Regular HMF is loud 104dBs
Sparks is Straightpipe Harley loud 106dBs.
Basically the Sparks is 10x louder than the QS1 according the the decible system measurements.
