what are signs of a bad clutch? When i pull my clutch all the way in i still roll forward a little. Do i just need new clutch plates and springs?

Clutch basket may be getting grooved and the plates sticking.Mine is starting that too.

so how do i fix it

Take the clutch cover off and check where the "fingers" of the plates run against the fingers on the basket. The basket should be smooth. If it an older basket the edges get serrated looking from the plates pushing on them.It is possible to file some of it out and help with the sticking clutch. If you have any adjustment left on the cable, you can try adjusting some of it out also.

thanks it is a stock clutch, i think that i may get a new clutch basket and plates. ARe tusk plates good? I mean will they last? I dont race or anything like that so its not like im real rough on the clutch. I pretty much ride sand dunes and then some in my back yard. Also where can i find the cheapest clutch basket, i want one that will last a while too though. Lastly if there is better clutch plates for the money let me know.

mine did that to right before the rod that goes through the motor to pull ur clutch snapped so i raplaced it and put cr500 springs in it and has been fine since just what i know later long live the r!

Motochamp, you talking about the rod that runs thru the motor to the pressure plate or the one that the clutch cable ties into?I didnt think about that being a possibility.Something else I need to inspect on mine.
