ok i wanted to richen my quad up a little by turning the mixture screw. i just wanted to see what would happed if i turned it counter clock wise and all of a sudden i could smell gas really bad and then i looked on the garage floor and there is gas streaming out of that little line that pours out gas when you tip it on its grab bar. is this normal?

I think you hit the skrew that drains the carb.

well which screw is the mixture screw the one i unscrewed was the one right of the idle screw

The mixture screw is on the bottom of the carb, in front of the bowl (not under the bowl). Very difficult to access when the carb is in place.

the one u turned is the the overflow just tighten it up the mixture is right behind the idle screw sorta of a pain to get to if u have big hands

yeah you unscrew the drain scew
not the mixture screw, the drain scew is on the right and the mixture screw is on the bottom.

yea that mixture screw is a biatch. I just installed a jet kit in my ex yesterday and it took me abotu 2 hours. I put everything back together and realized I forgot to adjust the screw. Now I gotta take it all back apart again just to adjust it.

you can adjust the mixture screw without taking it all apart, just take a flat bit, put your hand in there and turn it.

Counter clockwise
I've done it with a real long and skinny screwdriver, get to it from the right side below the header. Kinda had to 'push' the screw around rather than actually turning the screwdriver.
Loosen the clamps and rotate the carb, it may be easier.

hey i have made a bit driver for to turn the a/fscrew the funny thing is i have big fat hands, but if you keep preasure on the bit with one finger while turning it with other fingers is hard but possible!! the way i did it was i took a magnetic bit straight and welded it to two washers, then tacked little tacks on the washers to turn it also it somewhat held one the screw due to it being magnetic
i turned it on the left side
