hey guys do u use ur clutch when ur shiftin gears when in a wheelie?????.....it seems a lil hard for me to do so most times i dont.....but should i?

you should always use your clutch enless your flyen across dep whoop sor something and you ant let go of the bars...but when im in a wheelie i lways let the front end fall a lil bit and then shift up because if you do it at normal wheelie hight when ever you shift your nervous and you try to do it fast and thne end up popen the clutch and thrown the quad back fast and bending your subframe. so let it fall a bit and then shift up and you will get cleaner with it after time

i spose i otta try it....ive only done it once but im always afriad that ima accidently shift into neutral when shiftin into second while in a wheelie..i did it today and it bout threw me over the bars

you don't have to use the clutch but you should learn to use it. alot of times if you are doing a wheelie slow, like first or second, you can use the clutch instead of the rear brake to help balance. You don't have to squeeze it all the way, you just have to feather it a little bit

ha i wish i can do a slow wheelie,my 416 revs out so fast in 2nd gear and i can only go so far

it would be easyest fr you to start in the highest gear that you can start a wheelie in

I just got my first reel quad on wendsday of lastweek. (4 days) and can already wheelie it from 1st to 2nd. and do slow 1st gear wheelies as long as it is up hill a little.

I never thought to use the clutch. I just rev the crap out of it in first then let off a little,pop it into 2nd then hammar it. I really aint to great at it yet tho.

I dont see what it can hert not useing a clutch in a wheelie, there really isnt that much stress on the tranny when you are around tha balance point.
and moast of the time I dont dare take my hand off the bars to grab the clutch. afraid I will end up dumping it.

o shiftin aint a problem..i jus dont use the clutch....i been tryin but i can wheelie clear into 4th witout usin it

You need to use the clutch when shifting it will tear you cluch plates up. When you find the balance point on you bike let the front end down more the go faster and higher up to slow down. This guy on his banshee puts everyone to shame

I cant to it as good as the banshie guy, but i can do that same thing in one gear. then lower the front a little and pop it into 2nd. but things get hary for me in 2nd. I can ride them slow in 1st pretty good after some practice.

That's real good for being on a Banshee, but I don't know that he puts "everyone" to shame.

I do agree though, use the clutch when shifting...that is how it is supposed to be.

ive never seen anyone do a wheelie that good on a banshee, especcially going slow like that

one of the cool things to do is a slow wheelie and use your choke as basicaly cruise control ive only done it a couple times but at 12 o-clock let go and your quad keeps cruisin

I think he does....ive got a banshee and my brother has a 400ex, and I can pratice wheeling for 10 hours on the shee and jump onto the 400ex and the first wheelie will be longer than my best on the banshee. The powerband is way to radical to wheelie on the banshee slow, I can only do it fast 1-3 gear. That guy is fixitrod off bansheehq. btw im not saying everyone sucks, its just that its really hard to wheelie a banshee thats all.

I totally understand the difference you are speaking of....I used to own a Banshee also. Generally 2 strokes are a little crazier anyway, but a Banshee is a whole other animal. Unfortunately mine got taken away from me (not by choice) before I could get extremely good on it, but I have seen plenty of other people rocking slow, "creeper" wheelies on them.

No offense to your friend, at all either....Just saying that he doesn't put "everyone" to shame. That's all....not tryin to be a dick or anything.

the guy on the banshee is pretty good. banshees are long and pipey, and they are harder to wheelie. he makes it look pretty easy. although a real expert can nearly come to a stop while on a wheelie, feather the clutch and of course the ever precious rear brake, and just keep on going. I dont know how easy it would be on a two stoke, or something like a banshee, but I know for a fact that it can be done on something like a 400ex or trx450r. Those honda seem to balance very well.

I have a 400ex and have been cursing around on a 450r for a cupple days ( friends) and it is way harder to wheelie than my 400ex. the rear shock absorbs a lot and moves around. and the 450r is geard so damn high that I can barley do a slow wheelie.

yes, the EX is much easier to do that on, but the 2 strokers can do it too....some easier than others....the banshee is deff. one of the more extreme ones.

you can actually do it without the rear brake if you really practice.
