Too much carb?

I was wondering if a 39mm PWK carb will work ok on a stock cylinder(.030 over Wiseco pro-lite) with mild porting ,V-force reeds and an FMF fatty pipe and powercore silencer.I am thinking it may be too much carb...what do you guys think?

you may lose a little bit of bottom end. I am thinking a 38MM A/S would be a better choice. Also why such a big carb? Planning on going really big bore? A 38MM A/S would really suffice!

This carb was on my CT 350 pv top end.

It should work with no problem as long its jetted correctly. I had a 39 mm carb on my .040 stock jug no porting and it ran good.

ya itll work. it gives you a lot of topend

What main and pilot jets would you reccomend as a starting point with this set-up?

ttt so what jets anyone on this

180main CEL needle middle clip 50 pilot

you will prolly end up around 175-178
and might need to drop the needle(raise clip)

the CEL needle is awesome n a stock jug cylinder. the needle alone will give you more bottom and mid and it will be very noticeable.

what needle is in the 39 pwk?

This was an old thread.I don't even own the 250r anymore.

Yeah, but it was brought back to life by SOMEBODY that wanted an answer. Isn't this why we tell people to use the search function, because many of these questions have been answered before?

Well, what good would that do if you do the search, you find the question, but it was never answered?!?

Sorry
It will never happen again

Hey bee i found this I knew I had heard of the Cel from somewhere but I couldnt remember. Wilkin do you think this is pretty close or what do others use for a needle min has a dgh in it now with 168 main and 60 pilot 38 for the float boal. MY gosh it runs damn good and starts on the first kick everytime but I am going to order the cel on monday and see how it goes. I dont even want to put the 330 on anymore. I am sure I will easily destroy 450s now because this is nuts. I can barely keep the front end down and it is easily twice as fast as before. I only lost by like two bike lengths before but I am sure my buddies HRC 450 is a goner. Also with my new hydraulic clutch it is so smooth man I am lliking this atv more and more.

Will that needle work with a mikuni TMX 38mm also?...if not, anyone know what the best needle for that carb is ?
