During the weekend, my son & I went for a little 2 hour trail run. While going up a hill, his mini bogged and he stopped. His mini started to roll backwards, so he nailed the front brakes on our Pred-90. It kept on rolling backwards and to put this nightmare in a picture, vision a 233 lb mini laying directly ontop of a 10 year old kid in the middle of the hill (only 10 feet away from me). During the panic, I could count the scratches on the bottom side of his skid plate. With many miracles on our side, my son walked away with only a few small scratches. It could have been much worst!!!!!
I know I cleaned his front brakes last fall. Same time I replaced its rear brake pads. This hill was a normal size hill and normal working brakes would have easily held his Pred-90 in position. Why didn't his front brake hold???? A few moments ago, I found the reason. For pictures, surf:

By the looks of it, this crud buildup must have been from the few winter runs and short swamp day we went riding last month. For the safety of your young driver, do perform more maintenance on your Trail riding mini. Especially if your passion is swamp, mud and water riding. Cleaning the front brakes WILL help reduce a serious accident. Especilly when one needs their front brakes the most!!!!!

Hope this helps others....
