i have a 86 250r motor. what i want to do is make a stroker motor out of it. i already have a spacer plate for it and im ordering the 89 connecting rod. but what i need to know is what piston to order. the 86 or the 88 89 piston. also what head mods do i need and also what head gasket is recomended.

thats not a stroker motor, using the long rod crank and spacer plate makes more crank case volume and better low end. Unless you need to redo your rod, don't even bother doing it, you won't notice a huge increase. and you use the long rod, spacer plate, long studs and sleeves and a 86 piston.

If you have plans on running a big bore later down the road you will need that longer rod for like a ESR 330 or biger motor.

a stroker motor is where they move the pin on ur crank farther out so it gets a harder push. wich means sendin out ur crank and splittin ur halves and all that fun stuff.... id work on the other stuf b4 u put in a stroker... aka carb, pipe, reeds, porting, stuff of that sort

u might get away with a banshee crank tho... i hear they are nice in a 250r

Are you going to put the rod on the crank yourself?

I would never try and rebuild my own crank. were do i get the longer studs for my cylinder. and does any one know how much longer the 89 rod is compared to the 86.

u can find studs at any hardware store. i think the difference is 5mm.
