depends on what you are using them for they are aimed towards being a race machine. You can trail ride them also they just are a little more high strung that your raptor and z400 and 400ex counter parts. They are a very good machine with the proper care and proper updates. Plan to spend time changing the oil and maintaning it properly. I would buy another cannondale in a heart beat. The thing with fuel injection you can tune them to suit your needs wether you xc race or mx race they have maps designed specifically for that. They are just as fast as the new 450's and they are faster than a z400 and 400ex. They are right on target with the new 450's if you need some more cannondale information come over to cannondaleriders.com

In the other thread you said they will blow the new 450's away.
At least you are more truthful in this one!lol

The subject is a Speed not a blaze or moto. Suspension wise they are very close to say a 400ex with nonadjustable aftermarket shocks. Power wise it would be about the same as other 450 quads. Yes with mapping and exhaust it can be made just as powerfull as the higher end Dales. The speeds do have a few more extra goodies that most cannibals dont like Tag bars ,gripper seat, ohlins shocks,11,600 rev limiter.
The speed map is a very good trail riding map that wont rip your arms off. Plus you will be able to ride all day on and get better mileage than any of the competition.
Im not a big fan of putting powerful maps in the base suspension Dales because its to easy to overpower there capabilties with the narrow setup.
If you want to go really fast controllably the moto setup is the way to go.
Last weekend I was able to compare my stock moto against a stock predator but this thread is about a speed so I ll save that for another thread.

Well if you must know it was a 3 quad drag on a dirt road. 2 motos and 1 new pred. The other moto had a Timbomoose 468 stroker engine. My moto was totally stock engine with a speed map so it might be a little slower than the moto map but its better for trail riding.
The 468 moto left us floundering and had a couple hundred foot lead at about a quarter mile. The predator was behind me the whole time but I dont know how far back. I slowed down after a while because I couldnt see through the 468 dust cloud then the pred caught up and from there we just let them top out the rest of the way. Top speeds seemed to be about the same.
The thing that really set the moto apart from the predator was through the nasty rough whooped out sections. The moto long travel ohlins take it all in and beg for more inspiring confidence. The predator cornered well and was smooth on the mild trails was out of controll in the rough stuff. It ended up beating the rider to death and strained our wrists. We tried messing with the valving but nothing seemed to help. Softer springs and lowered ride hieght should help a lot. Also for a 500 cc engine I was surprized that it needed to be held in a way lower gear and reved high to keep it in the power. This is where the Dales fuel injection really shines. You could lug it through the woods in a high gear and motor out of the corners at much lower rpm . Compared to the predator my moto had tractor like torque. I heard getting a pipe really helps out the motor alot . There is definetly a lot of potential in the predator . I love the front steering system.
