Nice machines guys. Not sure if I want to post a pic now. My bike is nowhere as clean as those. You might have to adjust the size on your pics red rider. Thats what I have to do. Don't ask me how, I have the ol' lady take care of that kind of stuff for me. One of the "OTHER" benefits that go along with dating a girl almost 10 years younger than me.

Before anyone says anything yes I know the frame needs paint. I also have a set of nerf bars and white brothers exhaust that should be here soon.

Posted by: 4trax250x81
what brand and size are those a-arms, honda250xrider?
Posted by: honda250xrider
+3+1 burgard a-arms, if i would of did it over again i would of went with burgards custom a-arms +4 long travel. I think its around 200 more but would be well worth it.

they look the exact same except a few minor things...
and whoever asked, the one shown is Burgard +3+1s and Elkas

you can only get dual rates for a 300ex..handles pretty nice
Posted by: bryan.young1
quadshop said that with the burguard +2 +1's i could have trip rate elkas wi pgybk and dual rear w/ remote thats what he quoted me any way.
Posted by: honda250xrider
I'm not sure about the triple rate elkas on the 300ex, the 3rd spring would really have to be small to make it fit in there. But i would not doupt that they have them i have seen pep shocks on a 300ex that was triple rate with +2+1 a-arms. I would call up quadshop again and just make sure that they are triple rate, But if anyone the quadshop would know.
Posted by: roostin_dale
sorry, only dual rate...I even looked up the chart to make sure...
here it is..

Posted by: bryan.young1
would it make a differance if the A arms were Long travel. he said it would end up being the same travel as a 400EX. 16'' from Eye to Eye i believe. and i should be able to fit 3 rate in there i think.
hope so

are you tlaking about if you run a shock relocator?
Posted by: bryan.young1
ill have to call him back. another guy told me same thin as you, so i may be wrong, but thats what he told me. what is your take on the relocator?
Posted by: VT250X
I have just had first hand experience with one of the relocators. The one I got was the homemade looking one. It's much better looking in person than the shows. It's very very strong too. There are just a few things that are not clear in the item decription. First of all you have to use 400EX A-arms. I thought them meant 400EX or anything of equal length. They don't work with +2 a-arms made for the 250x/300ex. The shock mount on the 400EX a-arms are a little further out. The second and most important thing is that you need to cut your front fender mount above where the shocks are located. Not that big of a deal, but when the mount comes and you read the instructions it says that you will need to ZIP TIE the mounts to the frame. If I would have realized what he meant when I read it I would not cut the support and figured something else out. He says to zip tie it in the instructions, but I thought he meant to hold something in place while you attach the shock mount. Needless to say my stock 250X shocks are back on it. Now it's too late. I wasted money on purchasing the mount and the 400EX shocks to use with my extended a-arms. Add it to the pile of parts guess.

this guy really knows what he is talking about and is very fairly priced. i have been e-mailing him and talking to him on the phone and he always gets right back to me and answers my questions. he quoted me
Burguard Long Travel +2 +1 a arms
Elka Triple rate Piggy back res fronts
Elka double rate remote res with rebound and compression ajust
said that with the long travel a arms and the triple rate Elkas it gives the 250X the same travel as a 400EX with the same setup, with no relocator. just plug and fly.
ultra excited waiting for them.
check him out if you havent already

if you only ride on the track you don't really need one. its only if you are going through trails that you don't know very well that you need one for those big rocks that jump up and rip your rear sprocket off. on the track you dont need one really. i think, i could be wrong!!!!

1. Burgard LT arms +3 +1
The burgard LT's for a 300ex only come in +4's....the +3's are standard travel..
Hit me up on AIM at quad freak 14....i will hook you up with some nice LT a-arms and Elka's...for 1/2 the price of that burgard setup..

jeff might be right but from what i know they are only +4's! unless they recently came out with something new. I think you are misunderstanding Jeff, and really he is saying +3 standard a-arms and a shockmount relocator to make it somewhat like an LT setup? is this what you are trying to do?
Posted by: bryan.young1
this came up in another thread that i posted in and someone said the same thing, even sent me the chart from elka. so i called jeff in person to make sure and then had him send me a quote on everything. i made sure that there was no relocator involved he said that the long travel A-arms took care of that.
this was the first quote after i talked to him.
1. Burgard LT arms +2 +1
2. Elka triples with rezzies and comp adjust
3. Elka dual rear with comp/reb adjust
4. LT brake lines
5. web all around cam
6. new piston higher 12:1 compression
7. white bros e-series (exaust pipe only).(i have the WB head pipe
already)
8. plus 10 size over stock main jet
i typed it all in along with all the info in my sig and he sent me back the quote.
bryan
Posted by: bryan.young1
after that i called again to find out if i could go +3+1 instead and he said no problem. i made sure to actually speak to him so there was no confusion.

hey roostin_dale i wrote a thread to jeff asking him about the a arms and you were rite i thought him and i talked about it but i guess i was mistaken. he said that you might be rite about the LT only comming in +4 not +2+1 or +3+1 (which would really suck for me) but he is going to call his burgard guy and find out. any way you might be rite. and that means i need to re-think my whole plan.

yea somewhere around one inch. I had some 400ex +2's on one of my old 300's and it was the same as my 300ex Burgard +3s...
Posted by: 300exr
well i have 3-2 offset wheels, will that bring it out a lil further?
Posted by: roostin_dale
I had 400ex +2's and 3:2 wheels at one time. My 300ex's front end was at 48.5 inches wide...
Posted by: 300exr
well i feel kinda stupid now, i want to run a +4 axle, does this mean with my 400 arms my back end is going to be somewhat wider?
Posted by: bryan.young1
ok after much debate this is what im going with in October, now i cant wait to post picks....
also im not sure if i should stick with my WB exhaust system. My head pipe is cherry so i was going to use it. but i found a Brand New out of box Yoshimura RS-3 Full System for $369. is that a good one to get. what do you guys think. i have also heard that Curtis sparks X-4 is the best for this bike but i cant find where to buy them anywhere.
thanks alot guys
