Oiling an Oil Filter

Just wanted to get some advice. I'm always worried about the amount of oil to put on my Air filter. How much are you guys putting on?

I basically put about 3 tablespoons of oil in a plastic bag and spread it around the filter. There seems to be a light film of oil on the outside of the filter but nothing to squeeze out. Is this enough oil?

I don't think you can put too much in my opinion. I put enough that its soaked practicaly, enough to let the filter soak some of it up, as long as its not dripping to make a mess *shrugs* what I've always done...

I like the spray on oil myself. Its just easier to work with and you dont have the mess to clean up or the wasted oil.
