i heard 20 about not sure

any good methods of easy, right way, and good break-in

For a brand new quad I would say change it after 20 hours (that's what I did, & I'm always right

well i have had my 2002 for 6weeks now and last week i changed the oil for the first time! it was BLACK!!!! i would say dont go anymore than three weeks new befroe changing it! i would say around 12 to 15 hours! i couldnt believe how dark it was! i would estimate that i had close to the recomended 20 hours! real close! so i would go less than that! also i am running mobil1 mx-4t motorcycle oil and its real nice! i can hear the motor revving more easily than with oem oil! craps expensive! though 7.99 at autozone but its only two quarts! it is for use ion high revving cycles on or off road with wet clutches (like our 400's) great stuff i highly recomend it!
