I need to fix my clutch lever setup. I get arm pump really bad after riding for a short amount of time. I have a brandnew cable freshly lubed and an MSR easy pull clutch lever. Even with the clutch cable end in the whole closest to the grips, it's still hard to pull. I'm running heavy duty clutch springs, but it should make it that hard. And i don't think an RTC lever is going to help that much. Any ideas or past experiences with something causing this? anything in the clutch basket area that can be adjusted to help?

not really. let the cable out a lil ways so u dont hav as much clutch engaugement. other then that i would say u need to carry one of thouse squeez things around with you for a while an work out sum muscles... ive got heavy duty clutch springs on a non easy pull lever an dont think its that bad.

if you want to fix the clutch problem go and get a rtc lever...get the good one and not the lower cost one. they absolutely make your clutch feel like butter!!! ron at certified racing has them in stock! 402-345-0600

ok, i do already use that forearm workout thing, and it's not like i'm some weak little shrimp either. But my clutch pulls hard regardless of the so called easy pull lever name. I just think that even with a good rtc lever it will still be hard to pull. So no one has any ideas?

if yur clutch works and yur cable is good i dont think there is anything else you can do. put stock springs back in the clutch would help a lot. i like a good stiff clutch though. lie i said i dont run any sort of thouse cheesy easy pull levers pluss hav heavy duty springs. i dunno what would make it hard to pull.

my friend has an 88R and 10% stiffer springs. Evan as strong as he is he would get arm pump in 10 mins of riding. He now has a magura hydo clutch. It is easier that my ez pull with stock springs and a lot smoother. I think it is one of the best products ever made. In my opinion.....

yeah, to pricey for me. I just want a quality lever and smooth light pull. So i'm thinking either an RTC lever for $54 off ebay or try that other lever i posted the link for for $37.

Possibly the bearings that the clutch arm rides on are bad. I've seen a few fail. Look for side to side movement in the arm.

I guess when I race i dont really use the clutch all that much. I just use it for the holeshot and sometimes downshifting. but thats me

1 thing I did was bend the actuator arm more straight instead of w/ the stepup, it gives it more leverage, which in turn makes it easier to pull, just dont go fully straight w/ it or it'll want to nick the jug, made a huge diffrence on mine

Rocky moutain has an easy pull lever, I believe it like 35 bucks or so. I think msr makes it.

I've been told that it could be the bearings in the clutch arm as well if it real hard to pull. Another way that you may know that its the bearings if you feel a "notchy" type feeling when you pull in vs a smooth pull.

He is correct. It will give you more leverage. Another thing is make sure that the cable end, near the actuator is inline with the actuator. If its not it will add some drag to the cable and make it harder to pull. It will also wear out your cable prematurely.
Personally I prefer the RTC lever. It makes it a little easier and when it comes down to it, every little bit helps.
