My chain on my 400ex is loose. I was curious if it is hurting my acceleration?

No only if it starts to slip will it hurt anything. How loose are we talking? It should be adjusted within specs.

^^^yep. as long as the chain is grabbing every tooth of the sprocket then your fine. if it's extremely loose but still grabbing then maybe you'll notice a slight hesitation on take off while the slack is being pulled tight on top

i would make sure it is where it should be. i am a big believe in anything can slow you down
