I was running my 400ex all out in my neighborhood and when i stopped i shut it off and when i went to turn the key back on it had no electrical power at all. So i had to push start it. Once it is running the lights come back on, but when the motor is not running there is no electrical power at all. Is it the battery, the alternator?? I was hoping i could fix this myself without having to take it to the dealer.

Could be your battery. Loose terminal?

I would take a look down the wiring harness and make sure nothing came unplugged.

Same thing happend to me on my 300 it blew the fuse the in-line fuse. and one of the boots came off one of the connectors (and water/wet mud was in there) covered it no more probs.

Ice,

A word to the wise. The fuse will undoubtedy blow again. You should find out whats causing the short and fix it before it leaves you stranded somewhere.
