I live in MD, but the pictures really dont do the quad justice. This thing runs so strong, its a great little quad. I might be gettin a 440ex so i was just wonderin. Ya know, its kinda wierd how people get attached to things like quads, cuz i mean id just hate to see this thing go.

maybe if u put in the local paper or somthing i doubt ull get 1800 on here simply because ppl sell 400s for dirt cheap in that condition or modded
Posted by: 44oEX
I know just how you feel. But the first time you take the 440 out you will forget all about the 300ex
Posted by: Tommy 17
never... u'll be lucky to get over 2,000 - 2,200
2001 400exs are goin for 2800 - 3000 with decent mods

Any body want to trade a 400ex for this thing(just figured i'd throw it out there)

Well i just talked to the guy w/ the 440ex, and this thing is worked. He described the speed to me as "a death trap"
and as for everything else, its got a powdercoated aftermarket frame, and countless other things, but like i said before the motor is done up with as he said a "edelbrock carb, manifold,440 kit, racing cams". Would I be better of just startin out w/ a normal 400ex. Cuz this thing seems to be scary wicked insane fast, or is this overexagerated? ........... Reliability?

You would be lucky to get 2,200.

a death trap lmao...i had a fully modded 416, and it ran with R's no problem, but it was in no way a death trap, btw the eldebrock carb isnt a very good carb, the FCR is a better carb, i would probably just get a normal 400ex that way you can get the parts you want on it, unless you can get it for a good price

how fast should a 440 go
Posted by: 44oEX
well it depends what you have it geared for. in a mx or xc setup probably 70-75. but it would have the potentiel to hit like 85 with the right gearing. The only thing is that you will lose all you buttom end with that high gearing.

That was my misprint on the cam, I know theres only one cam, actually the guys an amazing mechanic and racer. But n e way, I think hes just tryin to find the guy with some balls to buy this thing, my neighbor was actually supposed to buy it, but he gave him the bs 100+mph story, so now I'm interested in it. I understand that this puppys got some power, but it is comparable to like a yfz with a pipe?

Just depends, my 300ex is running very close to my friends. He did the 440 kit himself. But If it is a professional built 440, with port&poilsh, cam, OS valves, valve job, and all those little tricks they know to get ever HP out of a motor, It should be running with the new 450 4-strokes.

I got 1800 for my 91 250x.. If you do go to sell it, clean up some of the surface rust thats on there. Its amazing what a can of black spray paint can do on the foot pegs and some other parts to make it look better. Clean it up really really nice. That 20 or so bucks spent in solvents and what not can bring an extra hundred or two in your price. I know when i was lookin for 400's there were a few i looked at that looked like they just pulled it out of the swamp, some looked (probably were) left outside all its life. Appearance helps. i could see $2200-2600.

you will be pushing 2K for it. maybe 1300-1800. I got my 400ex w/ renthals, nerfs, pipe, and some extras for 2K

MY buddy couldn't sell his 2003 300ex bone stock except for a durablue axle. It was mint and he couldn't get rid of it for $2000. It ended up goign for $1800. Then he sold a decently modded 97 300ex with shocks and a few motor mods for $1500. Just to give you an idea

well who would want a 300ex when you can get a 400ex for $1000 more, thats what makes the 300ex price stay on the down, low 400ex price around $3000 will make the 300ex stay below $2000

you could probably get like 2500 for it..........thats what nacsracer12 said.........
