I currently have a White Bros. and it is a biatch to start without a full battery. I either bring a jump pack with me or plug my stock cdi in to start and warm her up. I hate to do that every time I go riding.
I've seen some high dollar ones from MSD and Vortex, wondering how they work. Money is not an issue as is performance. Any help would be nice..............

we currently use the Magnum CDI box for $90
otherwise Dyna makes one as well as vortex they are more expensive buy have alot more features and maps.

I got a rev box from alba, it's cheap and didn't affect the starting.
don't get me wrong, the ex was a pain to start, even when I bought it new

Have you tried a bigger pilot jet?

I have a Big gun and is alot better then the white bros i had. plus the big gun revs higher then the white bros and i have no problems starting.

get the magnum it is cheap and works good and it will start in the cold!!! help C+D out I haven't been able to help them lately "low funds blues"

if money is no issue, then get the dyna programmable box.. that way you can program it to exactly how you like and can change it to better suit your modifications rather than have to go with one timing curve

I read a reveiw on the white bros box and they said it stinks b/c it has those probs your having. The reveiw said definitly go with the big gun rev box because it has none of those problems.

There are actually only a handful that dont have starting problems and I know GT thunder is one of them for a fact. I think that TC is the other but I'm not positive. Also GT thunder makes a custom curve for you instead of giving you an xr250 box, which is why your having starting problems.

one i got from jeff and the other i got through gt thunder. i think you will have to pay shipping if you go directly through gt thunder. but still, that will be less than $75 to ship. remember, laz does make 2 different ones for the 400ex. one is an aggressive curve and the other is a milder version. the aggressive curve box does enhance throttle reponse quite a bit but the idle is a bit irratic. i think i would get the one with the less aggressive curve if i had to do it again.
