You can make it fit but it will be a nasty install. 250R and 400EX use different types of dogbones so the lower shock mount bolts different. The onboard reservoir for the 400EX will aslo cause problems for airbox fitment. I know this because I tried to install a 450R shock on my 250R Project. 450R rear shock looks similar to the 400EX rear shock.

i have a 4ooex shock on my blaster you can also put a 250r shock on it 2 "blaster"

i wouldnt waste my time. there are too many diffrenances between the 2 its not going to work properly even if you fianlly do get it to fit

Thanks for the info guys. I was just goint to buy a 400 shock off of ebay for my R but I guess that's not the best idea.
