today i got my 400ex and rode it for one minute and cut it off. i changed the oil started it and let it sit for a minute. when i came back it was clicking. i had the same problem with my old 250x but it was the timing chain. what do you guys think?

I think you just need to use some fix a flat on that tire of yours and that should do the trick! Other than that it should be fine. Get on the thing and go riding.

you should probably just get 416hiroller to take a look at it, as he seems to be pretty good at working on these things, or just get a CANNONDALE!!

so it was sitting there idling while the ticking was happening?

try adjusting the valves.

it was idling when it was ticking but ill take it to my neibors house and see what he thinks

mine did the same thing when I first started it, but went away pretty quick.
