I almost bought this yesterday...

Wonder if everyone has ever tried it, what it basically does is blow very hot air out in a small stream, so u basically melt the plastic back together, they also sell plastic welding rods.

i have one similar to that but for it to work right you have to get your plastics very clean and i mean clean. and take your time

My friend has one that is like a little iron. It gets hot and melts a grove in the plastic then you fill it will a clear plastic rod that the iron melts into the groove. It works pretty good and the clear filler plastic blends with whatever color the plastic is.

No, its a plastic welder.

would a hot glue gun work to fix cracks in plastic? if you used a colored stick that matched the plastic, or a clear one.

highly doubtful

That would be a lot cheaper than the plasma welder we use at work for plastic. Give it a try...

that doesnt look all that bad!

speaking of plastics, is it not good to cut the plastics for air cooled engins? i heard that it makes less air get to the engin makin it run hotter. iacutten them on my 300ex.

i was thinkin about cutting them on my 300ex**

I doubt that it makes that much difference. Most people here that have cut fenders have an air cooled machine. I have cut fenders on my 400ex and i havnt had a problem. I had cut fenders on my 250x and didnt have a problem either.
