i know a ton of people that still race a 250r

Posted by: rs169300

Still racing mine in the Open A class in GNCC

Posted by: XANDADA

got an '86 here and will never sell it....although it may soon have a 4 stroke friend in the garage with it

Posted by: nacs400ex

I still ride it, an 86 framed(beefier) gusseted, 89 geometry. Long rod with 86 piston and spacer plate. Mostly MX, but the occasional fire road.

Posted by: bone705

i am still racing XC on my 86 R. im with you Xandada, ill probably add a newer R to the family.

Posted by: Eddiesanders250

Own a 87 and ride it whenever i can. Anyone that dose not ride there is very stupid.

Posted by: etter696

i have been riding my 87 since i got it last month, but it will have a fellow 4 stroke partner in crime, soon, hopefully the R is funner on the track this summer, than it is on these snow covered powerlines

Posted by: wvspeedfreak

I just picked up a JP Outlaw frame R with a CT 350 powervalve motor last week.It has Lonestar a-arms,Lonestar swinger, stem, axle, etc. It's got triple rate zps PEP's on it and beadlocks all the way around. The guy I bought it from just got the motor back from CT for a freshening up and it hadn't been fired up yet.So I have basically just done a few heat cycles on it and haven't actually ridden it yet.I am really looking forward to it though....this is my first 2 stroke since back in 1990 when I had a Tecate-4.

Posted by: wvspeedfreak

Here are a few pictures of it.The plastic is off because I am doing some work on it right now.

Posted by: wvspeedfreak

Posted by: NEPA250R

I have an all stock 87, and I'm almost finished building a Houser/PEP/ESR 250R for this race season.

Posted by: CHAR250R

1988
Original owner
Don't ride it much because I don't have the time.
Some mods, shocks next.
I will be buried with this quad when I die.

Posted by: koh0001

I have 2 - R's....one is a 88 ESR 330 longrod lonestar. & a 88 stock frame Both has tooo many mods to list.

I try to ride every chance I can

Posted by: beerock

dude I havent the foggiest what a R is?

can someone enlighten me?

is this one?

Posted by: edz250r

I ride an 89 and LOVE it!!!

Posted by: jcas

87 R in central Cali. Ride whenever I can, except in the rain. Mods are ESR 310 w/ trx9 port, 86 style piston w/ spacer plate, TRX6 pipe, cool head with high compression dome, Boyeson c/f reeds, CR reed cage and manifold, and the airbox eliminator kit w/ outerwear. There's more mods, but that's what matters: the engine! Especially since I ride with two YFZ's, 450R, two 416ex's, and a Raptor. I had an earlier post called 87 problems. The answer..........the crappy pump gas here in Cali!! Went back to 110 octane, problems gone! This is after going thru 2 top ends, endless gaskets, new cdi, new stator, new harness, and replacing both crank seals. But no regrets, she's running awesome!! Also have an 83R trike that I use all the time.

87 310R
83R
81 200

Posted by: Knips178

yep, that's a nice R beerock, and so is yours.

Posted by: beerock

knips do you know who that is on the R?

a hint, (its not me)

Posted by: JTRtrx250r

I confess... ...its me...

Posted by: Knips178

is it a rider from on here or a pro?

Posted by: baker250r

looks to me like creech. i remember that R in huevos 4

Posted by: 200386250r

I have an all original 86 250r that I ride every chance i get. Just becuase it's all original dosen't mean it sits in the garage collecting dust. I ride it like it was intended for!

I have located an all original 88 and 89 that I will be getting this month. My goal is to own originals of all 4 years so if anyone has or knows of an origianl 87 please let me know.

Thanks

Posted by: Knips178

I thought the same thing at first, but creech rode thor gear that year. That looks like MSR, unless I'm not reading it right. But yeah, that nacs R was in Huevos 4 when creech and greg little hit that kickass back yard grass track with the lawn mowers! heeeeeyyyyy, sexy monkey.

Posted by: baker250r

makes ya wonder.... what happens to all these pro's bikes, and freestylers bikes.... they should put em in a museum or somethin, lol. seein as everybody is yfz or 450r.... makes ya wonder where the R's of the past are sittin right now.

Posted by: Knips178

yeah, i keep seeing 250r's popping up here and there that were owned by some pro like 5 years ago. Or i'll see an engine that was owned by a pro. It would be cool to own like jones' lrd motor that he won the gnc with back in 02'

Posted by: trx310

I own 3, '88, '89 with '86 engine, and stock '87 other than swingarm and pipe for my gf

Posted by: TheFontMaster

I'm in the process of building a 250r from the frame up. I'm about 2/3's done, and mt goal is to have it done by the end of april. It's and 89 with an 87 engine. This is the first 250r I have owned, and will be the first 250r that I have riden.

Posted by: YFZRob

Count me in. I just bought my mint 88R because I was getting bored on my YFZ...imagine that. I LOVE this thing now with the ESR 310 kit I slapped on....so much more entertaining than the 4 stroke.

Posted by: beerock

ya its creech, and my buddy has that bike, and my other bud has jermiah jones lrd motor

Posted by: deathman53

I still ride a atc250r, its got tons of aftermarket trx and atc parts on it. When I get around to it, a lrd310pv and +1 lsr swinger gets put on. I also have enough parts to build another, which I plan to do. I had a 86 trx250r, that some of the parts are on the atc.

OMG!!! Mines a complete POS compared to that.....BUT I don't mind the extra $7615.00 in my pocket that would have been forked over for this one above the price I paid for mine.

WOW, I still wish I had $12k to buy that just to put it in my living room as eye candy.

Posted by: baker250r

how much did ur buds pay for creech's quad and jones motor? im guessin big bucks

Posted by: baseballplaya23

Hind sight says I should have cleaned it up and sold it for a profit and bought an already trashed r, but let me tell ya, I have had a lot of fun breaking it in.
