hey guys i've got a question. I'm currently switching out my R frame. I've got a an 87 frame and switching to a recently bought 88 frame. What do i need to buy to convert all to 88 except motor?(motor mounts, swing arm exc......)

foot pegs, seat latch, swing arm (87 can be used),grab bar ,a-arms are +1 foward on the 88 (your 87 arms will bolt on though) if you use the 87 swinger and arms you will keep you current geometry

what about motor mounts?
Posted by: beerock
you can use the swinger but have to cut the motor mount plate to fit with the 88 frame.Im talking about the plate in between the swingarm on a 86-87 year R. but you have to cut off the mounting ears.
I hope this helps.

well i just found that the front motor mounts on front are broke and the swing arm bolt is froze solid and the bushings are toast! I'm thinking maybe switching to 88/89 stuff. Any body got any hot deals on a swing arm and motor mounts?

I have a buddy here in Okinawa who has a crapload of parts for sale.
'88 swingarm with aftermarket bearing carrier and Durablue axle. You can find motor mounts all over Ebay for cheap.
I am using an '88-'89 Lone Star swingarm on my '86 frame.
