KFX400 Fan Ques?

I got my buddys quad here and hes having some trouble with it.. I told him ill try and fix it for him.. Well the fan doesnt look like it wants to turn on and hes had a problem where the coolant came out of the over flow tube.. I had it running and the radiator started smoking/steaming whichever.. Im thinking its just overheating cause of the fan.. Is there a way to test it or try and free it up?

i had overheating problems also and did away with the stock fan and had a custom set built much better than stock the stock fans dont last long

hmm is there a way to tell that its bad? Im also thinking it could be a thermostat?

Hook it up direct to the battery.......if it comes on,it works.Then look elsewhere.

Ok after looking into even more I noticed that he bent his radiator right at the top.. Is there a way to fix that or does the radiator have to be replaced altogether? Im gonna guess its gotta be replaced.. Would this have any affect on the fan not turning on?

Ya may try takin the radiator to a local radiator repair shop.They have been known to save quite a few radiators.To hook the fan direct,run a positive wire from the battery,and a negative wire from the battery.Hook them to the plug of the fan,it should come on if the fan is good.

No problem!!

I would also check the thermostat sensor,and the electronic fan switch.I would first unplug em,then reconnect em to make sure they are makin good contact.Does it have coolant in it?If the coolant aint hittin the sensor,it wont come on either.Let me know what ya find out.

Yeah the fans working now.. I took the radiator its bent and cracked leaking fluid.. There was barely any coolant in it cause of that.. We got a new radiator on the way.. When i get it back in ill let ya know how it works out cause if it doesnt work i got more questions haha thanks bro!
